The National Foundation for Human Potential provides financial and other support to organizations that promote educational, residential, and support services for people in need Including Family Residences and Essential Enterprises, Inc. Their mission is to ensure the realization of human potential for all people, regardless of ability. Family Residences and Essential Enterprises, Inc. (FREE) provides Residential Services, Community Services, Adult Day Services, Vocational Programs, Respite Programs, and Medical Services, to over 3,000 children and adults with disabilities.
These disabilities include:
• Down Syndrome • Mental Retardation • Autism • Seizure Disorder • Cerebral Palsy • Mental Illness • Prader-Willi Syndrome • Asperger's Syndrome • Traumatic Brain Injury Family Residences and Essential Enterprises, Inc. was founded in April 1977 by a group of parents and consumer advocates in response to the need for community residential alternatives to the institutionalization of individuals with mental challenges and developmental disabilities. Since that time, Family Residences has established a wide range of services for persons with disabilities residing in either Nassau or Suffolk Counties in New York. | ||||
